A.C.K. Nair (A Chandrakumaran Nair) started his career in Indian Telephone Industries Ltd. and later moved to the Airports Authority of India (AAI) and worked in various positions at several airports in South India. Mr. Nair has close to 30 years experience of which 25 have been in the aviation industry. He joined Cochin International Airport in 1996 on deputation from the AAI and later transferred to CIAL. He was a core member of the high-performance management team of CIAL from inception, with responsibility for planning and development of Cochin International Airport, the most cost-effective greenfield airport in India. Mr. Nair originally headed the Electrical Engineering Department at CIAL and was elevated to the position of Airport Director in 2004 with responsibility for the entire operations. Mr. Nair is a graduate in Electrical Engineering and also holds an MBA. He has held membership of numerous professional and academic bodies some of which include Regional Board Director of Airports Council International (ACI) Asia-Pacific Region; Fellow of the Institution of Engineers of India; Member of the Aeronautical Society of India (ASI) and ex-member of Governing Council of ASI; Member of the Executive Committee of the Association of Private Airport Operators (APAO); Board Member of Indian Institute of Information Technology.
