Pankaj Srivastava is the Commercial Director of Air India, a position on the Board of Air India and is a passionate and energetic leader in the Indian aviation industry who specialises in strategic marketing, people leadership and general management. Mr Srivastava has almost 35 years of diverse airline experience in areas such as business planning, strategy, airport operations and hub control, network development, distribution, sales and marketing and advertising. Mr Srivastava was a key stakeholder in planning and executing Air India’s entry into the Star Alliance, the largest global alliance. Air India is the first Indian carrier to be accepted into a global alliance. Mr Srivastava has represented India at numerous international conferences and in steering groups established to spearhead new initiatives and best practices. During the period since Mr Srivastava has taken over as Commercial Director, Air India’s performance both in terms of passenger revenue and carriage as well as customer satisfaction has shown a steep increase. His leadership has resulted in Air India winning many awards. Besides his innate business acumen, he has been a crisis manager for Air India and has been keenly involved and volunteered in offering his services in evacuations during the Bangalore and Hyderabad aircraft accidents, the Bhuj earthquake, the Gulf war and the Kandahar hijack.
